The Miracle (Prodigy) Worker

Couple of month ago I visited an exhibition so called "The Invisible Exhibition" that currently takes place in Prague. Without my vision I had to find my way out using other senses mainly sense of hearing and touching. Believe me it was not easy at all. Without our blind guide I would be desperately lost.

Having this experiance I have chosen a play called The Miracle Worker written by William Gibson; first published in 1957. It is a breathtaking, true story of Helen Keller who became deaf, blind and mute after an serious illness that she went through in her early childhood.

As a twelve-year-old girl she is captured in a family house; living in obscurity; having no friends, just silence and blackness.

Well, I believe in happy endings...do you?

Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light.

    Helen Keller

  3. We just finished reading this play in MYP2. They responded really positively to it. You can discuss it with Betty's little sister, if you like :) Nice start -- but beware, I am more immediately familiar with this play than all the others... good start, I am also looking forward to more.
